1. Long-eye heddle threading
Each column is one pattern unit. A unit may pass through one pattern shaft, several shafts, or none.

Long-eye heddles needed
One filled square = one long-eye heddle on that pattern shaft. The whole warp unit passes through that heddle.
3. Pattern check
The pattern check shows actual pick height. With 4 picks per square, four identical preset picks form one square; manual runs can be shorter or taller.
